Need a last minute festive outfit with everyday clothes?

Alright everyone, Christmas is less than a week away. Maybe like me, you don’t want to spend money on new clothes this year. Or maybe you haven’t had time to plan your outfit yet. Either way, know that you don’t need to buy a new dress every year for Christmas and NYE. Repeating outfits is fine but if you feel like trying something new, you can easily creat a festive outfit with your everyday clothes. Here are a few I came up with using my regular clothes.

Festive outfit 1: pantsuit and crop top

I think this one is my favourite look because I used my Ninepine pants. I just love wearing them because they are so comfy (reviewed here btw). When paired with a blazer, it looks like I’m wearing a suit. With a regular tee, this could be an office look but the crop top and necklace bring a bit of pizaaz.

Outfit 2: any basic dress

The beauty of basic pieces is that they are so versatile. They can be dressed up or down with accessories and that’s why they make such good wardrobe staples. It’s actually their purpose. This off-white sweater dress is what I wore to my last party, with a red lip, and it looked fire! The outfit in the first picture is also a dress, styled with a blazer.

Outfit 3: skirt and blouse

The skirt and blouse formula is one I have used many times for all sorts of occasions: NYE, company parties, weddings, you name it. I don’t know why exactly but this combo just works. I prefer A-line or pencil skirts but an accordion or a satin skirt could do the job too.

Festive outfit 4: slacks and long sleeved top

Here come the ninepines again, but this time style with a cropped long sleeved tee. In my opinion, this outfit gives minimal jumpsuit vibes, except you can go to the bathroom without having to undress. I do like the monochrome look but I’m sure different colors works as well.

Quite honestly, I don’t think what we wear for the holidays matters much but it feels nice to dress up once in a while. One thing is for sure: we don’t have to buy new clothes for every occasion.
